In 2013, patient designer Elijah Diggins shared his story of being diagnosed with Burkitt leukemia on his 13th birthday through his red and black Air Foamposite One Premium. The colorway represents his condition, a form of blood cancer, and is also a nod to one of his favorite basketball teams. The story continues with a graphic on the sockliner that is inspired by his most prized possession ?C a silver bracelet gifted on his 13th birthday. Fourteen-year-old Elijah Diggins applied his own inspiration to the Air Foamposite One as part of Nikes annual Doernbecher collection, featuring a primarily red graphic throughout the molded casing on the exterior. A black gradient appears just above the midsole, while the eyestay is formed with a leather application instead of the traditional nubuck textile. Elijahs signature appears on the heel loop and on the ring thats applied to the tongue.
